The
Schoenhut
Balls and Barrels Balls are used primarily in balancing acts by the sea
lion, bears, or by acrobats. |
|

The reduced size ball on the left was made from three wood pieces,
each separately painted. The regular size ball on the right is a single
piece of wood with a hole drilled through it.
|

A ball made for the sea lion will have a cutout area
for the seal's nose. Sometimes a ball is found with a tight rope slot in
it.

Barrels
The barrel is used in balancing acts or as stands. The back two
barrels are the regular size. The reduced size barrels in front were
made in three parts much like the reduced ball.
