Kangaroo

by Judith Lile and Jim Sneed

The Schoenhut Kangaroo
The kangaroo, introduced in 1907, is known in two designs - glass eyes and painted eyes. There was no reduced size produced.
We have seen no decal eyes but there may be some.

Glass eyes

The kangaroo's body shape is not found in any other animal. The tail is wood and the ears leather. The bodies are painted in a golden brown over a white base. Often black strips were added as shown in this example. The ears in this example appear to be replacements.
Keller Style I - Very Scarce

The design of the painted-eyes version is the same as the glass-eyes version. Keller Style II - Very Scarce
