Mary

by Judith Lile and Jim Sneed

 Mary and Her Lamb

Mary Had A Little Lamb sets were introduced in 1908. Sets came with a sheep (lamb), a feeding trough, and a desk with a slate board and reader attached. Sets came in nice boxes with the nursery rhyme  printed on the front.

Second Mary

Later, Mary's face design was changed to a more serious look. Her head appears to be molded much like the earlier Mary.

Mary's Lamb

The lamb or sheep was introduced with Mary. Early ones have glass eyes, leather ears, and a brass bell hanging from a red ribbon.

The later lambs have painted eyes. The bell on this one is a replacement.
