The Schoenhut
Milk and Bread Wagons

The A. Schoenhut Company produced at least 13 wagons pulled by a single horse, and painted in the colors of various milk and bread companies.

(I need more photos of these wagons)

The Fine Bread wagon's white horse. All wagon horses we have seen look left and have a ribbon on each cheek. We think that the horses were made in Germany for Schoenhut.

All wagons came with a load - bead loaves in bread wagons and milk bottles in milk wagons. They also came with a driver.

Alderney Dairy Milk Wagon

This is one of at least three versions of this company's wagon. The black horse is uncommon with these wagons.

Alderney Dairy Co. Milk Wagon

This Alderney wagon is likely the earliest version. A third version is shown in the ad below.

This wagon looks similar to the Schoenhut wagons but is it? Please contact us if you know the maker of this wagon. jlsneed2@bellsouth.net
